who we are
Pride for the People (P4TP) is a coalition of community leaders, organizers, and activists from across Massachusetts. We exist to end the structural racism and white-centeredness that exists in Boston Pride. We aim to transform Pride into a community-centered organization that centers queer, Black, Indigenous and, POC LGBT voices in our community.
Many of us are former Boston Pride committee members who resigned after the Boston Pride’s Board repeated failures to adequately address racism within the organization. After years of advocating for structural change within the organization, we decided there can be no Pride for some of us until it represents all of us.
We recognize that while P4TP is more diverse than Boston Pride, we came from an organization that was specifically lacking in Black, Latinx, Indigenous queer and trans voices, and we still need more of those voices. Through partnerships with Boston queer, Black-led organizations, we aim to amplify the historically marginalized voices leading change in our community. Please join us as we strive to transform Pride. We need your input!
